Golden Feather is a project that was started by Steve Kiely and Brad Germain, inspired by their love of bands that like to jam and take their listeners on a musical journey. The two have been close friends for years, but had just finally gotten to writing music together in the early part of 2019. What started out as a weekly hang for the two in Brad’s basement recording demos, quickly turned into them having to find more like minded musicians to help them bring their musical ideas to life.

The group was set to play its first show in March 2020 when the global pandemic hit, suddenly ending all hopes of live performance. Brad and Steve, along with bassist Ronson and guitarist Chris Wheeler worked on the songs remotely and ended up recording their debut album entitled Light On Water, which was released in November 2020. Not long after the release of Light On Water, Gareth Inkster joined the group on keys to complete the original, definitive lineup.

Golden Feather has since released a follow up album “In Air”, releasing each of the four songs as singles, once monthly for four consecutive months, in early 2022, followed by the EP “Now & Then” released on Sonic Unyon Records in September of 2022.

Chris Wheeler and the band amicably parted ways in January of 2023, and not long after, part-time guest saxophonist Murray Heaton joined the band as a full-time member.

Seeing the band live is where you get to really see what they’re all about. It’s very much a two way transfer of energy between the crowd and the stage. They’re not afraid to explore their music and try new things out, especially in front of a live audience. Golden Feather shows are full of dancing, sing alongs, and good vibes, something that has to be experienced for yourself to believe. Come watch the Feather Fly!

Hailing from Welland, Ontario, Sleepy Jean is the moniker/alter-ego of singer-songwriter Katey Gatta. Their debut EP, Idle Hands, amassed over 100,000 cumulative streams on a purely DIY release. Now armed with her backing band, the Deadstock Three (featuring members of TALK, Cat Clyde’s Shitbats & alumni of Great Lake Swimmers, Jill Barber & Deep Dark Woods), Sleepy is set to release her debut full length effort, Shoot Me in a Dream, in July 2023.

Fort Erie Lions Senior Centre has Indoor Shuffleboard.  Come and play.  Beginners are welcome.

Our upcoming Fort Erie Youth Talent Showcase is hosted by the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee and will be a family event held on the evening of Thursday, June 6th at the Leisureplex Banquet Hall. The goal of this event is to highlight talented youth in our town through music and art. We also aim to shine a light on the wonderful support for youth and youth organizations that exist in Fort Erie through a fair-type setup. There will also be youth art displayed throughout the hall for members of the community to view and admire. While members of the community circulate through the organization's tables and wonderful art, there will be live music all by youth performers. As the community enjoys the art and performances, there will also be small games and activities available for children to play and engage in. This will be a fun, family-friendly event to showcase all of the talented youth in our community. We are excited to invite the community to this event and cannot wait to see you all there!

We are very excited to announce the Umbrella Walk is officially back! This was an extremely popular event of ours and we are so happy to bring it back. This years Umbrella Walk will take place June 15th! If you are not familiar the Umbrella Walk is where attendees decorate their umbrellas in advance and come showcase their designs! The registration will take place at 10am and the walk starts at 10:30, following the walk there will be a charity BBQ where all the proceeds will go directly back into the community! There will also be prizes for those with best Umbrella design! We are roughly a month away until the Umbrella Walk so you still have tons of time to design your umbrella. Tag us in your designs and we will share on our social media!

The event features custom cars and bikes from all eras and genres, including classic cars, hot rods and modern muscle cars. There will also be plenty of vendors on hand offering friendly activities for kids. Pre-registration to be closed on June 1, 2024. Rain date is scheduled for June 16th.
