Today, Monday, December 29, the Town of Fort Erie has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with Ontario’s Minimum Maintenance Standards.
We are experiencing extreme wind conditions, downed trees, power lines, and localized flooding. This situation may create multiple hazards on roadways, sidewalks, and outdoor public spaces, including parks and trails. We urge residents to exercise caution and avoid travel until wind gusts subside.
The winds are expected to calm down by this evening. Town road operations are working around the clock to maintain the roads, and some Road Closures are in place for public safety.
